How can I play?
Fill in the entry form on this site, print it off, sign it and send it to FREEPOST POWYS LOTTERY.
Leaflets are also available from many shops in Powys.
How much does it cost?
Each number costs £1 a week. To make the administration of the lottery easier, entries are paid every 6 weeks by standing order
or a one off payment for 20 weeks by cheque or postal order.
I don't like standing orders, can I pay another way?
Yes, send us a cheque or postal order. We do ask for a minimum of £20 if paying by cheque.
I don't have a bank account, can I still play?
Yes, you can pay by postal order.
How many numbers can I have?
As many as you like! There is no limit; it's a £1 per number per week.
Can I choose my own numbers?
No, you are allocated the next number in line and you keep that number for as long as you choose to play.
What are the odds of me winning?
It is expected there will be 4,000 people plus playing, therefore odds are 1 in 4,000!
If there are only 4,000 people in the lottery, why is my number over 10,000?
For administration purposes the numbers allocated were started at 10,000.
How will I know if I've won?
The draw is broadcast on Radio Maldwyn every Wednesday at 11:45am and the winner is publicised
in the County Times and on this website.
Do I have to claim?
No, we will contact you if you win.
Do I have to have my photo in the paper?
We reserve the right to publicise winners but we will not force you to have your photo in the paper! We would hate
that to prevent you from playing.
Who runs the lottery?
The lottery is run by the directors of the Investing in Powys Society Ltd.
Where does the money go?
After paying the prize money and expenses such as the staff, the rest of the proceeds go to Powys businesses
in the form of interest free loans and to community groups as grants.
When is the draw?
The draw is carried out every Wednesday at 1:30pm
How is the draw done?
All lottery entries are put on a special computer database, every Wednesday an independent person is asked to press
the 'draw' button on the computer. The computer then initiates its random programme and picks one number out of the entries.
How quickly do I get the money should I win?
Immediately. A cheque is ready in the lottery office as soon as the draw is done.
Where is the lottery based?
In an office on Broad Street, Welshpool.

I live outside Powys, can I still play?
Yes, if you have a British address. We only give loans to businesses based in Powys but anyone with a GB address can play.
Can I give a number as a gift?
Yes,certainly! Simply fill the standing order form with the players name at the top and your bank account details below. The Powys
